Hello friends!
Sorry we've been out of touch. It's been so long, too long! We've been going through a few ups and downs, but who doesn't, right?
At the beginning of the year, Catherine decided to take some time off to focus on her academics while Jonathan, Felix, and myself continued working together and writing new material. A replacement was found shortly after; Richard Arce Connine (drummer of Naima Earth) became the new drummer for our group. After a few months of working together, we decided to play a few warm up shows. We were scheduled to play 6 shows in Los Angeles, CA from June to August of this year. Due to unfortunate events and personal reasons, we had to cancel our scheduled shows.
It was around that time that Catherine contacted the group about wanting to play some gigs. Although there wasn't an official agreement, we all knew she was back! Excited, rejuvenated, inspired, determined, confused, disappointed, exhausted, optimistic, pessimistic, confident, and hungry, that's how we felt since the ending of last year.
In spite of the fact that we still feel that way, we're prepared to do what we love, which is to write and perform our music, to the best of our abilities, to the people that we love and care for, to those who have never seen our work before, to those that have, to those who feel welcomed and unwelcomed, but of course everyone is welcomed.
In other words, our music is for you! We have a lot of new material and a lot of ideas for future material!!! Our minds are throbbing, just like our hearts and souls to show the world what we have to show. We would like to invite everyone to join us at our shows and experience something new, something exciting, something true, something that will make us feel connected and truly good.With that being said, we all wish you well and we all wish to see you soon!

Transition was recorded in South Gate and Long Beach; CA. Recording began in December 2006 and ended in June 2007. During the recording of the album, The Absynths were on hiatus. In fact, some of the material on the album was originally written for The Absynths.

Hello FRIENDS,
We would be thrilled if you can join us for our upcoming shows this month.
On Friday, August 21 we'll be playing at The Amar Fest in Los Angeles, CA. The show will take place at Firehouse No. 23. The show will start @ 5 P.M. This event will be a benefit for organizations working to improve the skid row community. There will be artists, poets, photographers, comedians, film makers, and community organizers representing skid row. In addition, a debut compliation album by The Amar Collective will be handed out. A $5 donation is greatly appreciated.
On Saturday, August 22 we'll be playing at the Tribal Cafe with some great bands (Viddious, Colonial Fever, Avi Buffalo, and Ayahuasca). The show will start at 7 P.M.
We will be performing new material and we would like to know what you think about it. So please join us friends.

We would like to apologize for not being able to perform at The Scene tonight. The show was cancelled and we were notified as we were loading up our gear and heading out. If we would have known ahead of time, we would have posted a bulletin mentioning that the show was cancelled.
We hope that we will be able to reschedule the show at The Scene and if not, then we will hopefully reschedule the show at another location.

We have decided to upload a demo of "Texture Decays" tonight, instead of Wednesday.

P.S. - The demo version of "Texture Decays" is very different from the album version. The demo version is 6 minutes long and the album version is 9 minutes long. Either way, we hope you enjoy it.
